The History of Leaf and Stone.
Leaf and Stone began as two distinct shops—The Inside Garden and Rijo Ceramics—both deeply rooted in the heart of Tavistock. The Inside Garden, with its established reputation for houseplants, had long been a favourite of plant lovers in the area. Meanwhile, Rijo Ceramics was Rich’s and Debbie’s creative outlet, passionate ceramicists, who’s work is inspired by the beauty of nature.
One fateful day, Rich visited The Inside Garden to ask if I wanted some pots made. What started as a simple question grew into a collaboration that would transform both businesses. As our shared vision grew stronger, we decided to unite our passions and open a single, beautifully curated space: Leaf and Stone.
Now, as one vibrant shop, we bring you the very best of both worlds—an array of carefully selected houseplants and exquisite ceramics inspired by the natural world. Located on Market Street, our little oasis invites you to immerse yourself in the lush greenery of our plant collection and the timeless beauty of our handmade ceramics.

Ceramics with Rich and Debbie: Crafting Nature’s Beauty
At Leaf and Stone, our ceramics are inspired by the natural world, and our goal is to create pieces that help you reconnect with nature. Rich, our talented potter, draws inspiration from his travels and experiences, designing pieces that resonate with the natural world’s timeless beauty. Each ceramic item is thoughtfully crafted on the potter’s wheel and finished with stunning glazes that reflect the colours and textures of nature.
Debbie, who chronicles the journey of each piece, hand-glazes each creation, linking nature’s colours to the form. Her focus is always on preserving the 'story' of the piece, ensuring that every item carries a sense of time, place, and narrative.
Together, Rich and Debbie create ceramics that are not just objects but memories and experiences in your hands.
